Calder. 7 months
This is my favorite age. 6-9 month olds are so happy. Constantly smiling, laughing and learning. Calder is such a sweet boy and I was so happy to have the chance to take his picture again.

The last time I saw the Menkiti family they were awaiting the arrival of the newest Menkiti boy. I love photographing newborns…love.it. Their little cries and sounds and the way they smell. (During a newborn session is the only time it is appropriate to smell a client.) Meet sweet baby Clayton.
I love being a photographer for many reasons….one of my favorites is to be with people as they experience important milestones in their lives. I remember my firsts first birthday and how happy my husband and I were that we made it an entire year without screwing up too bad! Kathryn was a adorable on her big day and you could see the pride in her doting parents eyes. Happy… Keep Reading
This was one of my all time favorite sessions. Besides the fact that they are both ridiculously good looking ( making it easy to take a good picture of them) they have great personalities and a wonderful relationship. Both Merissa and Richard are from Texas. In fact, Richard had just arrived in DC the day before our session….he was having a little problem cooping with our weather. 🙂 As I… Keep Reading
A few weeks ago I had the great pleasure to meet the Olson family. This family is fun-loving and easy going. Owen and Drew, like all 2 and 5 year old boys, were full of energy and were very excited to hop around for the camera. I loved Lindsey and Eric’s down-to-earth parenting style. They had a very comfortable way about them that I really admired. Please meet the Olson… Keep Reading

Shrin, Rosha and baby Arvind are awesome. I met Shrin about 7 years ago and Rosha about 4 years ago. We are all from Ohio and would go out to our favorite Ohio bar, The Winking Lizard, and drink delicious beer. Now….not so much. Now we hang out at little ones birthday parties and when our super cool NY friend comes to DC to visit with his equally cool NY… Keep Reading

Today I met John, Susan and LJ (aka Little John aka Peanut). LJ, a 5 year old superhero, will be going to Children’s tomorrow morning to have a tumor removed from his brain…this will not be his first brain surgery. I could literally feel the love and pain radiating from Susan during our session this afternoon. Watching her memorize his face and mannerisms with tears in her eyes was more than… Keep Reading

We just got back from an awesome family vacation in Naples. The fact that we had such an amazing time made the hellish flight with a 17 month old worth the pain. The beach is a great place to take pictures. The light is great, the scenery is great and everyone is always happy. Perfect. I wanted to share a few of my favorites from the week. (Oh how I… Keep Reading
Being a photographer has a lot of perks. Discovering the city and meeting awesome new families are 2 of my favorite perks. Last week I had the pleasure of meeting the Menkiti family. A really great, loving family with 2 little boys and a 3rd on the way in a couple months. Meet the Menkiti’s
I was very excited for this session. I love love love taking pictures of little babies. There is no acting with them. I love the silly faces they make, I love that they sneeze when they have been overstimulated, I love the little fat rolls all over their little baby bodies. Calder was no exception. What a beautiful little boy, I had to keep reminding myself that this was a… Keep Reading
DC is filled with awesome spots to take pictures. Old Town Alexandria is definitely one of them. Last week I had a session with some fellow Buckeyes (OH-IO), the Tanner’s. A wonderful family with 2 sweet little munchkins, Dylan & Sydney. Meet the Tanner’s.
This is the first year that I have ever sent out Christmas cards. I love receiving them but I have to say I am incredibly lazy when it comes to mailing anything out. Hence, no Christmas cards. This year I decided I would do it. I have managed to get the pictures taken, edited, sent to Costco, picked up from Costco, bought stamps….now they sit on top of my fridge… Keep Reading
